Coxing at the UWBC:
a summary from our coxes captain
Emilia Davies – Coxes Captain
The coxes squad is a group of determined, fun-loving, and confident students who are made up of both beginner and experienced coxes alike.
For beginner coxes, most water sessions will be on the weekends for 2-3 hours a day in term 1, and as the year progresses, they will typically be given more sessions during the weekdays in addition to the weekends, as is normal for more experienced coxes. During the water sessions and cox briefings, the coxes will continue to expand on their coxing knowledge, and form a strong, unbreakable team for races with their respective squads.
Anyone who wants to be part of our amazing team is welcome, even if it is simply to try out something new. There are no tryouts or requirements to be a cox, so all you need to do is contact us via any platform or catch us at the University and let us know you are interested! We hope to welcome as many of you as possible!
